About
If you’re not on the gas network – JPEC has solutions for your heating problems.
Electric Boilers
Electric boilers have many advantages related to running costs, power (output rating), efficiency, maintenance, environmental impact, etc. but since electric boilers do not burn fossil fuels, they can reduce your home’s carbon footprint.
Can solar panels run an electric combi boiler?
Electric combi boilers can be run from electricity produced from solar power, which means that you can run your boiler completely free of CO2 emissions. Moving to electricity is easy, as you don’t need to replace any of your existing pipework or radiators.
Good for your wallet and good for the environment!
Electric Underfloor Heating
Electric underfloor heating systems are extremely energy efficient. In fact, they are much more efficient at heating a room when compared to radiators. Underfloor heating is more eco-friendly than using radiators and uses less energy, meaning they cost much less in the long run! As long as you have installed it properly, you could save about 25% of the energy you would use with a radiator.
Storage Heating
Storage heaters work by storing heat generated by cheaper night-time electricity and releasing this heat during the day. Most storage heaters are wall-mounted and look a bit like radiators. They use electricity to heat up a “bank” of ceramic or clay bricks inside them overnight.
- They are cheaper to run than some types of electrical heating that use electricity at peak times;
- Many modern storage heaters have a built-in thermostat, allowing them to release heat when required;
- They use less energy when it isn’t needed;
- They are very quiet, even fan-assisted models;
- They are easy to install and can be placed almost anywhere
- They are more flexible than central heating;
- No plumbing, pipe work or flue modernisation is required;
- There is no risk of carbon monoxide poisoning with storage heaters.
Panel Heating and Electric Radiators
Panel heaters are low-cost home heaters, with highly responsive, unenclosed heating elements. They warm spaces very quickly, are lightweight, and come in a range of simple designs.
Electric radiators are just like central heating radiators except they don’t rely on a network of plumbing to deliver heat. They’re standalone units filled with either thermal fluid or dry elements which heat up and transfer warmth to the surrounding air.
If you use a panel heater frequently, any initial savings you made by choosing it over an electric radiator would quickly be outweighed by the greater running costs.
Both electric radiators and electric panel heaters offer quick, easy and versatile installation options, meaning getting your heating set up is quick and easy.
